The greater the number of voters in the next election, the greater the wager that will have been won by the current government and those who pressured for voting by Greek abroad to be instituted.

The decimation of the ruling party cannot be intrerpreted as a huge victory for the main opposition party.

Tsipras opted for a major gamble by framing the election as a referendum on his stimulus package and for the first time in nearly four years he lost the bet.

'The electoral result does not satisfy me and I will not ignore it…I cannot ignore it. The final verdict is always delivered by the people. I will not escape,' the PM said.

Given the current impasse and the dark electoral projections the only card the PM has left is snap elections.

The electoral horizon can be measured by opinion polls but also by the results of the European Parliament election in May.

The government appears to be either forgetting or ignoring that in democracies the government’s record is judged by the vote of all citizens without distinction.

Left-wing and right-wing populism do not differ much. as they are based on the same type of rhetoric and lies and they deceive citizens in the same manner.

The PM says he is mulling over which Sunday in October he might hold the general election. “I am looking for a date in October,” he said, thus indicating that he intends to serve out his whole term.

Though foreign embassies rarely involve themselves publicly in domestic affairs, it is clear that SYRIZA has many reasons to be pleased by their treatment of the government.
